This later became an in house joke! Next move was to find some land not previously mutilated by cows or sheep. Luckily right on my door step in Renhold a piece of land became available, then some housing. Not too much of a problem as a kind lady, Mrs Geffs, had some old pig houses that would do the job nicely. Taken down, removed, rebuilt and re-erected, we were now in business. The first year we decided to raise some meat and egg birds and a whole load of other special breeds. This proved to be demanding but successful.

Then the avian flu scare became public. Avian flu! Did we carry on or pack up now? With so many people behind us, onward and upwards was the only way to go. In 2005 we decided to just raise egg birds and a few pure breeds. However it started to look like a zoo for chickens and every day someone would ring with a request for yet another breed of chicken that I had never heard of. We joined both Tastes of Bedfordshire and Big Barn and soon became well known for being a supplier of high quality free range produce.

2006 soon came and saw us increase our free range poultry, ducks and geese stocks for the farmers markets and local customers. We thank them all for their continued support.
